Presentation

Balaruc-le-Vieux is a typical Languedoc village. In its old town centre you will discover, in the heart of the restored ramparts, vestiges of its history, including the Saint-Maurice church.
The view from the Place du Truc is splendid. You can contemplate the Crique de l'Angle, the hills of La Moure, Bouzigues and its oyster beds. In the distance, the silhouette of the ancient volcano of Agde, and on a clear day, you can even see the Pyrenees. The sunsets are magical.
In July, don't miss the famous medieval festival and its fireworks show!

To enjoy the fresh air, head for the Crique de l'Angle, a marshy wetland, classified as a Natura 2000 site. You can see a multitude of birds including pink flamingos, herons, egrets and other wading birds while admiring the reflection of the village on this wild and authentic stretch of water.
And for bike rides and family outings, take the greenway from Balaruc le Vieux to Mèze with breathtaking views over the Bassin de Thau and the Crique de l'Angle.
