Abbey of Valmagne: historical monument and vineyard!
Classified as a historical monument in 1947, Valmagne is one of the most beautiful Cistercian abbeys in France and one of the oldest vineyards in the Languedoc. The Abbey of Valmagne is also a member of the Sites d'exception en Languedoc.
Come and discover the cathedral of the vineyards with its Russian oak tuns, the cloister with its Florentine charm, the chapter house with its basket-handle vault and the fountain, one of the few to have been preserved in an abbey. You can stroll through the medieval garden before visiting the conservatory of grape varieties and tasting the estate's wines. In addition, there is the possibility to eat at the abbey's inn, tasting tasty dishes with vegetables, flowers, fruit and forgotten plants from its organic vegetable garden.
